Comments:
Fiasp contains insulin aspart as well as niaciniamide (vitamin B3) which results in a faster initial absorption of insuin, leading to an earlier onset and and greater early insulin exposure. The onset of action is about five minutes earlier with Fiasp than with NovoRapid (insulin aspart) and the peak effect occurs approximately 11 minutes earlier. Therefore, if hypoglycemia occurs, it may occur earlier after an injection of Fiasp compared with other mealtime insulins.
